目的狀語從句大綱

目的狀語從句是指從句部分用以補充說明主句中謂語動詞發生的目的的狀語從句。可以由that, so that, in order that, lest, for fear that, in case等引導。

目的狀語從句的謂語常含有may, might, can, could, should, will, would等情態動詞。

例如：
You must speak louder so that /in order that you can be heard by all.

He wrote the name down for fear that(lest) he should forget it.

Better takes more clothes in case the weather is cold.

引導目的狀語從句常用的連詞有：

Say it louder(so)that everyone can hear you.

大聲說，以便大家都能聽到你。

I am telling you that lest you should make a mistake.

我告訴你這一點，以免你搞錯。

學習目的狀語從句應注意以下：

（1）目的狀語從句中常含有can,could,may,might,should等情態動詞。

I got up early so that I could catch the first bus.

我起得很早，目的是爲了趕上頭班公共汽車。

（2）在口語中so可以引導目的狀語從句。

We'll sit nearer the front so we can hear better.

我們坐的靠前一點，因此，我們聽得清楚一點。

【注意】in order that與in order to的區別：
in order that+從句
in order to+動詞原形 （ in order to後面加的那個不叫目的狀語從句，叫目的狀語）

in order to 爲了，後接動詞原形，做目的狀語。
i get up early in order to catch the early bus.

in order that 爲了，後接從句，做目的狀語。
i get up early in order that i can catch the early bus.

目的狀語從句的一個特點：
由於目的都是未來的行爲，所以從句中一般用表示未來可能性時態，
當然還可以用will,would,can,等
