90 into，in to

這一對詞很易混淆。

into是介詞，它引導介詞片語，在句中用作狀語，表示“進入…之中”或“變成”之意。例：

he fell into the pond．
他跌到池塘裏去了。
the explorers get into difficulties．
探險人員陷入困境。
the boss flew into a temper．
老闆發脾氣了。
the conjurer changed a handkerchief into a loaf of bread．
魔術師把手帕變成一塊麪包。
the rain changed into snow．
雨變成雪了。
in to的 in是副詞，同樣有“進入”的意思，但 to 是介詞或不定式的標記；作介詞時，其後跟名詞，作不定式標記時，其後跟動詞原形。例：
let's go in to look at the book show．
讓我們進去看看書展。
比較 les's go into the hall to see the exhibition．意思都是“進入”，但into爲複合介詞。
entries for the competition should be sent in to the editorial board before january 19th．
參加競賽的人要將名字在一月十九日前送到編輯部。
（這裏不能改用into）
需要注意的是，在某些場合下，into可以和in互換使用，但涵義不同。例：
please put it into my pocket．
please put it in my pocket．
第一句用into，它強調“放入”的動作；第二句用in，它只說明一件事（即動作的結果位置），沒有強調說明某一事物從某個地點轉至另一地點這一動作的過程。因此，在下句中，into不能改作in：
they are swimming from the english channel into the north sea．
他們正從英吉利海峽遊入北海。
在下列中，in to亦不可改作into：
the news came in to us．
they went in to supper．
由以上各例句可見：into作爲複合介詞時，與其後的名詞構成一詞組，如 into the north sea、into my pocket。而 in to的 in是副詞，與前面的動詞搭配，如 came in、went in、sent in、go in等。
