still用作副詞時,意思是“還,仍舊,尚”。對想象中應該結束的動作或狀態還在繼續表示“驚訝”; 或是強調始於過去的動作或狀態仍在繼續,且含有“到目前爲止”的意思,所以多用於一般現在時態和現在進行時態。still用在肯定句中,須放在助動詞、情態動詞後面,行爲動詞之前; still用在否定句中,須放在助動詞和情態動詞之前,當助動詞是be時,把still放在助動詞前面或後面都可以,有時還可放在直接賓語之後。still可修飾比較級,作“還要,更”解。
