不定代詞 all, both, every 等與 not 連用時構成部分否定;若要表示完全否定，則要換成 none, neither, no one 等，例如：
Not all the children in the class passed the test.
並不是班上所有的孩子都通過了考試。
部分否定：有的通過了，有的沒有通過
None of the the children in the class passed the test.
班上沒有一個孩子通過了考試。
完全否定：全部沒有通過
Both of the shoes are not nice.
並不是兩雙鞋都好看。
部分否定：可能有一雙不好看
Neither of the shoes are nice.
兩雙鞋都不好看。
完全否定：都不好看
Not everyone likes music.
並不是人人都喜歡音樂。
部分否定：有的人喜歡，有的人不喜歡。
No one likes this book.
沒人喜歡這本書。
完全否定：都不喜歡
