句子是表達完整思想的獨立語言單位。簡單的句子一般必須含有主語與謂語。謂語山動詞或動詞短語，或聯繫動詞加表語擔任。動詞或聯繫動詞在謂語中有人稱和時態及語態形式。

句子還有賓語、定語、狀語等其他成分。舉例：Birds fly.(主語+謂語)/The light turnedout.(主語+謂語)/The books are new.(主語+謂語;主語+聯繫動詞及表語)/ Those boys play football every day.(定語+主語十謂語+賓語+狀語)/ Theres water in it.(謂語+主語+狀語)練習1：判明並劃出謂語：
