中國反壟斷部門批准富士康收購夏普
Shares in Sharp surged almost a fifth after Taiwan’s Foxconn said Chinese antitrust authorities have approved its $3.8bn takeover of the struggling Japanese display maker.
富士康(Foxconn)表示，中國反壟斷部門已批准其以38億美元收購處境艱難的日本顯示器製造商夏普(Sharp)。隨後，夏普的股價飆升了近五分之一。
The green light from China was the final hurdle for Foxconn, formally known as Hon Hai Precision Industry, to clear in its acquisition of lossmaking Sharp — a deal that had been scheduled to be completed by the end of June.
中國亮起的綠燈爲富士康——正式名稱爲鴻海精密(Hon Hai Precision Industry)——收購虧損中的夏普掃清了最後一道障礙。這筆交易原本計劃不晚於今年6月底完成。
Shares in Sharp rose as much as 17 per cent to ￥104 on Friday morning in Tokyo after Foxconn released a statement overnight.
富士康夜間發佈上述聲明後，夏普的股價在週五早盤一度上漲17%，至每股104日元。
“Our investment in Sharp has completed all necessary reviews by the relevant governments, and our company and Sharp will now move to complete the transaction in accordance with our agreement as soon as possible,” Foxconn said.
富士康表示，公司對夏普的投資已完成各地區反壟斷申請之審查，雙方將依約儘速完成交割程序。
Foxconn agreed in March to pay ￥388.8bn ($3.8bn) for a two-thirds stake in Sharp, giving the Apple assembler a century-old electronics brand and the technology know-how that pioneered solar panels and liquid crystal displays.
今年3月，富士康同意以3888億日元（合38億美元）收購夏普三分之二股份。這筆交易使得這家蘋果(Apple)產品裝配商不但獲得了一個擁有百年曆史的電子品牌，還得到了曾率先開發出太陽能電池板和液晶顯示器的技術專長。
But the long wait for Foxconn’s injection of cash had made investors uneasy, especially since the Taiwanese group had earlier walked away from a similar deal in 2012. Sharp said it now expects the payment to be made as soon as Friday.
但富士康注資遲遲不到位讓投資者感到不安，尤其是考慮到這家臺灣集團曾在2012年放棄過一筆類似的交易。夏普表示，目前預計富士康的投資最早將於本週五到位。
After the takeover is completed, Tai Jeng-wu, a close aide of Foxconn’s founder Terry Gou and a fluent Japanese speaker, will replace Sharp’s current chief executive Kozo Takahashi.
這筆收購完成後，戴正吳(Tai Jeng-wu)將接替高橋興三(Kozo Takahashi)出任夏普首席執行官。戴正吳日語流利，是富士康創始人郭臺銘(Terry Gou)的親信。
The Japanese group is bracing for more radical restructuring under Foxconn with Mr Gou warning of a need to further reduce Sharp’s workforce, in a reversal of his commitment before the deal to protect jobs.
夏普將在富士康旗下迎來更徹底的重組，郭臺銘提醒夏普有必要進一步裁員，這與他在這筆交易前有關保護就業的承諾相左。
