人與環境 People and the Environmen

As the technology and economic is developing, the environment problem is becoming a severe problem, and the people are seriously affected.

隨着科技和經濟的發展，環境問題變得嚴峻，人們也受到嚴重的影響。

The sustained damage to the environment has caused a serious problem, such as air pollution, sand storm, extraordinary weather, and diseases etc., people suffer from what they have done to the environment.

However. People have realized that it will be too late if they don’t do anything to prevent things from getting worse. For example, there is an “Earth Hour” on a Saturday of March of each year. It is a global movement, usually it lasts from 8:30pm to 9:30pm. It is also called “Light-off for One Hour”. During this hour, all the light will be turned off. The purpose of this movement is not only to save energy, but also to warn the people to realize the importance of protecting the mother earth, and to stop violating the environment.

American cities have many nickenames, such as Chicago is the windy city and Los Angeles is the city of angels. The biggest city New York is famous for the nickname of The Big Apple. Many people come to New York to have a look at the famous scenery and feel the lively atmosphere here.

美國城市有許多別稱,例如芝加哥是風之城，洛杉磯等是天使之城。最大的城市紐約因爲綽號“大蘋果”而出名。許多人來到紐約看看著名的風景,感受這裏的活躍氣氛。

There are many famous tourist sites in New York. The first is the Statue of Liberty. It is a very high building and it is located in the harbor. The statue represents the freedom and peace, it is the gift from Frech people to American people. Besides the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building and the new World Center Building are also the landmarks in New York. People can see these buildings from the movies.

The nickname of The Big Apple first came from the sport of horserace. Everyone wanted to have a thoroughbred to win the race and The Big Apple is the best horse. So people named New York The Big Apple to show its feature and wanted to catch more visitors and it worked.

As the development of the mass media, we can have access to the instant news immediately. We can read the news by the Internet, it is the fastest way to get the first-hand information. To catch people’s attention, some media will exaggerate the facts, they always bring the false report. They should be punished.

隨着大衆傳媒的發展,我們可以立即獲得即時新聞。我們可以通過因特網看新聞,這是最快的獲得第一手信息的方式。爲了抓住人們的注意力,一些媒體誇大事實,總是帶來錯誤的報告。他們應該受到懲罰。

A few days ago, it has been reported a Chinese woman dragged a foreigner’s clothes to ask him for compensating her bike. A pictured was posted in the news. People criticized this woman for behaving so rude in front of a foreigner. The woman couldn’t bear the pressure, she stood out and told the true that the foreigner beat her and said the rude words at her first. She was under the false scold.

幾天前,據報道，一箇中國女子拖着一個外國人的衣服，要求他賠償她的自行車。新聞上配了圖片。人們批評這個女人，因爲她在一個外國人面前的行爲是如此粗魯。這個女子受不了壓力,她站出去,說出真相，是外國人先打她,並且對她說粗魯的話。人們錯怪了她。

The news was reported without further research, which brought great trouble to the woman. Many celebrities are facing the same situation, the media report their news by exaggerating the fact, just to catch the audience’s attention. Such act should be controlled to correct the journalists’ attitudes to the news report.
