　　我的外公 My Grandfather

My grandfather is over sixty. He looks younger than his real age. He was a policeman before his retirement. He has a positive attitude towards his later years of life. He does physical exercises every morning. He can read books without wearing glasses. He is so strong that he is able to lift heavy things by himself.

我的外公已經六十歲了，他看上去比實際年齡年輕，他退休前是一名警察。他對自己的晚年生活有一個積極的態度。他每天早晨鍛鍊身體。他可以不戴眼鏡看書。他很強壯，可以自己搬重的東西。

He loves children very much. Every Monday afternoon he is invited to a nearby school to tell stories to the children about the life and work of the policemen. All the young pupils love him very much.

他非常愛孩子。每個星期一下午，他應邀到附近的學校講警察的生活和工作的故事。所有的年輕學生都很愛他。

I m a middle school student. I love English, but it s hard for me. Now I have a good plan to learn English.

我是一名中學生。我喜歡英語，但是對我來說卻很難。現在我有一個很好的英語學習計劃。

I have a pronunciation problem. I can't pronounce so well. So I plan to listen to the tape and read after it. I can t read English passages quickly and can t write a passage clearly. Now I plan to read more and practice writing often. As for listening, sometimes I can t understand what others are saying. So I plan to improve myself by listening to the radio and TV. Grammar is the most difficult for me. I have no idea of it, but I think my English teacher can help me with it.

我的發音有點問題。我發音不好。所以我打算聽磁帶並跟讀。我不能快速地閱讀英語文章，也不能清清楚楚地寫文章。現在我計劃看多些書，經常練習寫作。至於聽力，有時候我無法理解其他人在說什麼。所以我打算通過聽收音機和電視來提高我自己。對我來說語法是最難的。我都不知道怎麼辦，不過我覺得我的英語老師能夠幫助我。

　　水很重要 Water Is Important

Water is very important to us. If there is no water, we will die. We can eat nothing for few days, but we must drink water every day. Besides, if there is no water, the plants will not grow, and the animals will not live. Therefore, there will no food for us. But the water has been severely polluted nowadays. Much water is not suitable for drinking. For our human beings and our planet, we must protect water. Without it, there would be no life any longer in earth.

水對我們來說是很重要的。如果沒有水，我們會死。我們可以幾天不吃東西，但是我們每天都必須喝水。此外，如果沒有水，植物就不能生長，動物也活不下去。因此，我們也就沒有了食物。但是現在水資源卻被嚴重污染，很多水都已經不適合飲用。爲了我們和我們的星球，我們一定要保護水資源。沒有水，地球上也就不會再有生命的存在。
