A four-year-old boy is keeping the memory of his dead dad alive by drawing a picture of him every day.

Little Dylan Mummery draws daily pictures and collects photos to remember his amazing dad Jon - a cystic fibrosis suffer who died in March at the age of 41 while waiting for a double lung transplant.

But with the help of his mum Issy, Dylan is making sure they still take time to remember Jon every single day.

Issy, 37, from Leicester, said: "Dylan and Jon were incredibly close, they were always with one another.

"When Jon died he started drawing pictures of his dad every day, it’s amazing to see the memories they shared.

When Jon died Issy knew she needed to create something to not only help Dylan come to terms with losing his father and best friend, but also so they could look through their family memories together.

She said: "It's one of his favourite things to do, everything he draws is related to his dad and the memories they shared.

"He even painted Jon's funeral and called it 'daddy's grave field.'

"Jon's biggest fear was dying before getting to see our son grow up.

"He desperately wanted to be a part of our lives forever and this way he can be.

Issy is now fundraising for Glenfield Hospital for refurbishments on the cystic fibrosis wards.

She said: "Our situation highlighted the need to raise awareness about organ donation and I want to raise money because of the amazing care Jon received.

"I hope more people sign up to the organ transplant list once reading our story, if there were more donors Jon would be here today."
