为副词,常位于 be 动词?情态动词和助动词之后,其意为“不”?例如:

not 可位于动名词?现在分词和不定式符号 to 之前,构成其否定形式?例如:
He asked me not to be late.他要我不要迟到?

可以与 every,both,all 等词连用,意为“并非,不都是”,表示部分否定?例如:

其完全否定形式为：Neither of them is a student.他们两个都不是学生?
Not all the students have seen this film.并不是所有的学生都看过这部电影?
其完全否定形式为:None have seen this film.任何人都没有看过这部电影?
也可用在省略结构中,代替前面提到的词?短语和句子的否定形式?例如:

用作副词?
(1) 用于引导否定的答语?例如:
—Do you like a cat?你喜欢猫吗?
—No,I don’t.不,我不喜欢?
(2) no 用于谢绝对方的建议或帮助?例如:
—Will you please have some tea?你喝点茶好吗?
—No,thanks.不,
(3) no 用于表示不同意对方的请求?例如:
—Can you lend Wei Hua ten yuan?你能借给魏华10元钱吗?
—No,I can’t.哦,不行?
(4) no 用于形容词和副词的比较级前,其意为“一点也不”?例如:
They are no older.他们一点儿也不老?
用作名词时,意为“不,拒绝”或“反对者”?例如:

用作形容词?
(1) no 置于可数名词单数前面时,相当于 not a; 放在可数名词复数前面或不可数名词前时,相当于 not any,意为“没有的,全无的”?“远非的?完全不是的”?例如:

No可以作副词，也可以作名词和形容词;not只能用作副词。现将它们各种用法分述如下，以便比较：
作副词时，no有下列两种用法：
(一)作为yes的反义词，用在回答问题的场合，表示“不”的意思。例：
No，I won't go to the casino. 不，我不去赌场。
(二)用在比较级之前，表示“并不”之意。例：
The weather today is no better than it was yesterday. 今天的天气并不比昨天好。
用作形容词时，no表示not any的意味。例：
There is no(=not any)time to lose.
时不可失。
注：当no用作形容词时，可直接放在名词之前，如果名词的前面有a、any、much、many、enough等词，就要改用not，不用no，因为not是副词，只有副词才有资格修饰a、any、much、many、enough等词。因此，我们说：
I have no money. =I have not any money.= I do not have any money
注：no +u(不可数名词)=not +any +u
再如：There is no meat in the fridge =There is not nay meat in the fridge.
He has no brother =He does not have a brother.
注：no+可数名词单数= not┅a +可数名词单数
He has no brothers=He does not have any brothers.
注： No +可数名词复数=not…any +可数名词复数
