Part 1: Do you like music?Candidate A:Yes, I like music, because …um…(猶豫)it is very relaxing… … can help me relax(重複), when I feel tiring…., no, when I feel tired(意識到語法錯誤的自我糾正), I always listen music, listen to music, so…,um…, it is a good way to relax(重複,能想到的擴展點太少)

Candidate B:I guess everyone enjoys music, and I am no exception(接考官的問題同時給出個人觀點);Normally speaking, I’d like to listen to a variety of music, including pop, rock, light music and so on(類型), especially(強調) when I take a ride on subway(時間), I always listen to music with my earphone(工具) to kill time(原因) and have a relaxing mindset.(戰術:用what/when/who/where/why/how的方式儘可能多的去擴展)

Part 2: Why do you want to talk about this restaurant?Candidate A: I like the food in this restaurant because they are very delicious(沒有規劃和組織答案的典型開頭), … (想出一句是一句的節奏,出現hesitation)and I also think the environment is very comfortable, many people say their noodle is recommend(邏輯性差,前面在講環境,但又說回食物), is recommend-----able(此詞拿不準,調整一下出現self-correction), I like it too; also I want to talk about their price(沒有連接詞), it only takes me, no, only costs me(語法不熟練而出現的self-correction) around 50 yuan per meal, which is very nice compared with other restaurants, so that is why I want to talk about this restaurant(通篇詞彙和句型過於簡單).

Candidate B: This restaurant is really my cup of tea for the following reasons(戰術:總分總結構)The primary one is that they offer us a range of food selections, which is really authentic and tasty(代替delicious); apart from noodles, I would still recommend(戰術:用自己拿的準的詞性造句) the rest of the menu, like side dishes, dumplings as well as the traditional homemade yogurt.(戰術:給名詞來論證)Additionally, the other aspect I’d like to mention is the cozy and comfy environment, which is decorated with an original sensation of Yunnan’s elements(雲南元素的風情), like banana leaf and bamboo(戰術:具象描述更加符合西式的思維習慣); while I stay there, I even could feel on the scene personally(戰術:主觀感受,身臨其境的感覺).

Last but not least, I consider the price is rather reasonable and affordable(戰術:詞串而不是單詞), which only costs me around 50 yuan per meal; Surprisingly, when I present my student card, unbelievably 20% off discount would be available (戰術:推薦別人來,要有具體的點) ; how amazing is that!(戰術:用語氣表示強調)Generally, that's why this restaurant is worth recommending. (戰術:結論句)

Part 3:Why do someone like the sport of playing soccer so much?(假設自己完全不喜歡足球,或者被問到了自己一點都沒有興趣或者認識的話題)Candidate A: um….(從來沒想過,我該怎麼辦?)um…(繼續沉默), I don't like soccer, so I don't know why other people like them(出現消極心理暗示), probably they find this game is really……ting(尋找形容詞,出現停頓), and….,or they can keep fit when they play soccer, and they think watching soccer game is very fashionable; um…, something like that. (5-6分之間考生的典型答法,沒有連接詞和邏輯關係,僅僅是靠本能堆砌,用簡單句給出觀點)

Candidate B:Well, speaking of soccer, I have to say this is really a challenging question for me, simply because I am not a fan of it at all and so I have no particular sense of their thoughts(戰術:同樣是不喜歡,把心裏的想法用英文表達出來,避免空白和停頓); nevertheless(戰術:對連接詞的把控), I guess their sentiments are no more than the following aspects(無非就只有幾個方面), the most typical reason is likely to be their strong interests and passion in this games, surely soccer can bring them surprise and excitement(戰術:用慣了形容詞,試試名詞?); besides, as a teamwork sport, soccer might provide them with a chance to cooperate with each other or even make friends; one more possible point might be the motivation of working out to keep fit; to name but a few(戰術:同樣的觀點用多樣的句型來表達).

To talk about a person who is good at cooking, I think there is no one else but my mom. She is the best cook I have ever seen. my family and I all like her cooking very much.

My mum is a popular and well-respected Chinese teacher in a middle school. She is in her 40’s now. she is neither too tall nor too short, just medium built, like a normal local woman, but with beautiful feature and fashionable clothes.

Though most of the time she is busy with her lessons and students, my mum still enjoys cooking for us in her spare time. Everyday after school, she buys vegetables and meats in the market near the school and brings them home and cooks them for us. Her cooking is always different, which gives us surprise, as well as nutrition. My father and I will help her in the kitchen sometimes, and the happiest time of my family is always dinner time. We can taste delicious food and share each other the interesting things of the day.

My mum’s favorite dish is scrambled eggs with tomatoes, which is the best one I have ever tasted.

That is all I want to say about this.

My favorite movie star is Yang Ziqiong, who is very famous not only in China but also in Hollywood. She is one of the earliest actresses accepted by Hollywood and became popular in the world. She’s good at martial arts. She’s not very beautiful but her kongfu is really amazing, quick, clear-cut and powerful. I think she’s the proud of China, not only for her position in Hollywood, but also because she spread Chinese traditional kongfu in the world.

What’s the difference between American films and Chinese films?

I think the biggest difference lies in the purpose of the film, result from the level of freedom. You know, most of Chinese films just describe an ordinary story and focus on teaching the audience some principles, because the government controls the contents of films stringently. But because of freedom, the purpose of most American films is to give audience an impressive shock, and then earn enormous profits.

Part 3

Are there any differences between childhood friends and friends in adulthood?

Actually yes. First, a childhood friendship has innocence and there are easier ties to make with someone when you are younger. There are also easier ways to find things in common with another person when you are younger. When you’re older it’s kind of like having the safety net removed. Then, you can do something as a kid in a friendship and it’s either cute or brushed off. As an adult it’s a little harder because if something is misconstrued then even the most rational person can get upset.

Which do you think is better, to have a large group of friends or just a few close friends?

Definitely a few good friends. Less worry and problems to deal with. I believe in quality over quantity when it comes to close friends. I feel more comfortable hanging out with my small band of pals, and I know I can be myself and I trust them all implicitly.

Well, the way people make friends today is not much different from the way people used to. You meet someone and hang out with them and see if your personality clicks.

What do you think is the value of teaching history in school?

History always helps us to understand the present about a person, society or nation. For example, history of the Egyptian, Indian and Chinese civilizations gives us a good idea of how people lived, worked or fought in wars in the past and how the world has progressed over the centuries. Take a passion to study history you will discover that many countries have so many amazing secrets, stories and knowledge to offer. And the past can in some way help us to predict about the future
