8月29日晚，南航一名空姐稱，在合肥飛往廣州的南航CZ3874航班遭到廣州市越秀區委方大國毆打和辱罵。有消息稱，方大國已於9月2日被停職檢查，接受組織進一步處理。

A senior district official in China's southern metropolis of Guangzhou has been suspended from his post for allegedly beating an air attendant, sources said Monday.
本週一，有消息稱，廣州市一位區級幹部因涉嫌毆打空姐一事已被停職。
這位官員爲屢被提及的職務分別爲越秀區委以及political commissar of the Yuexiu Armed Forces Department(越秀區武裝部政委)，被毆打的“空姐”可以用air attendant、air hostess以及stewardess來表示。飛機上的“空乘人員”多用flight attendants或cabin crew表示。雙方因爲方大國carry-on luggage(隨身行李)的放置而產生矛盾，進而方大國一方have a brawl with the air attendant(與空姐發生了肢體衝突)。
To suspend someone from one’s post就是“停職”，多用被動的形式表達“某人被停職”。另外，suspend也用於學校對學生的處分，表示“停學”，如：John was suspended for a year from school after cheating in final exam.(約翰因考試作弊而被停學一年。)

重慶市人民政府原副市長、公安局原局長王立軍涉嫌徇私枉法、叛逃、濫用職權、受賄犯罪一案，近日已由四川省成都市人民檢察院依法向成都市中級人民法院提起公訴。

Wang Lijun, Chongqing's former vice-mayor and police chief, has been charged with bending the law for selfish ends, defection, abuse of power and bribe-taking by the Chengdu City People's Procuratorate.
重慶市原副市長、公安局原局長王立軍涉嫌徇私枉法、叛逃、濫用職權、受賄犯罪一案，已由成都市人民檢察院提起公訴。
公訴的四項罪名分別爲徇私枉法(bending the law for selfish ends)、叛逃(defection)、濫用職權(abuse of power/power abuse)，以及受賄(bribe-taking)。
檢察機關指出，王立軍在履行職務期間，without the approval of authorities (未經批准)或forging approval documents(僞造批准文件)，非法使用technical reconnaissance measures(技術偵察措施)。

香港特區居民近期發起的hunger strike(絕食)和class boycott(罷課)等活動都呼籲withdrawal of MNE(取消德育及國民教育)。特區行政長官表示，就是否scrap the subject(取消該課程)，there are still many possibilities to be discussed(仍有很大討論空間)。
