size的用法要點與搭配習慣

　　1. 用於the size of sth，有兩個意思是：一是表示“某物的大小”，二是表示“與某物大小相當”。如：

What matters is the size of the office. The location is of secondary importance. 關鍵是要看辦公室的大小，位置是次要的。

Pluto is much smAller—only about the size of our moon. 冥王星要小得多，只有我們的月亮這麼大。

　　2. 用於of a size，意爲“大小相同”“尺寸相同”。如：

They’re both of a size. 這兩個大小相同。

All the desks are of a size. 所有這些課桌的大小都是一樣的。

　　3. 詢問尺寸或尺碼的大小，英語通常用what size。如：

What size do you take in shoes? 你穿多大號的鞋?

但如果有比較明確的選擇範圍，則可用which size。如：

Which size do you want—small, medium or large? 你要多大的——小號、中號還是大號?

　　4. 注意以下表達：

size five shoes 5號的鞋

a size seven hat 7號的帽子

I take a size nine shoe.=I take size nine (in) shoes.=My shoes are size 9. 我穿9號鞋。

What size are your shoes?=What shoe size are you? 你穿幾號鞋?
