The first thing to realize is that the question, "Tell me about yourself," provides you with a great chance to promote your strong points. This is particularly important when applying for a job that is different from what you have done in the past. With that in mind, make a list of the three most important things you want the interviewer to know about you. Avoid focusing on simple references2 to things that are already on your resume3, although this information should form the skeleton4 of your answer. This doesn't mean that you just say, "I'm a great problem solver." Instead, explain how you used your problem-solving skills at your previous job.
