●一、remain 作爲動詞，均爲不及物動詞，但有兩種意思，此時不能用進行時態，也沒有被動語態：

1、remain “剩下”、“餘下”、“遺留”，試看下例句子：

Some of them have disappeared while others remain today.

它們中的一些已經消亡，然而另外一些今天仍然存在。

After the fire，very little remained of their house.

●二、系動詞：“保持”、“仍然是”，“依舊是”，後接形容詞、名詞、動詞不定式、現在分詞、過去分詞或介詞形容詞短語作表語，指某人或某事物仍保持某種狀態

●四、remaining 形容詞，“剩下的”、“餘下的”，修飾單個名詞作定語，置於該名詞之前作前置定語，與left同義，但後者必須置於被修飾的名詞之後作後置定語，試比較：
