第781期:出國想買包紙巾別用paper啦, 教你各種紙巾的英文表達

“紙”對我們的生活實在是太重要了，上班上學時需要打印紙，吃飯時需要餐巾紙，上廁所需要衛生紙。今天我們就盤點下中文中的各種“紙”的地道英文表達。

面巾紙 tissue

n. (尤指用作手帕的) 紙巾，手巾紙;

Example:

She wiped her nose with a tissue.

她用紙巾擦了擦鼻子。

餐廳裏的餐巾紙

千萬不要和服務員要 paper, 他多半會給你拿來這樣一張紙...

餐巾紙的正確表達是：napkin

n.餐巾;餐巾紙

Example:

He wiped away the blood with a paper napkin

他用紙巾將血跡擦去。

衛生紙 toilet paper

這個就非常直白了，toliet+paper

n. 衛生紙;手紙

Oh, I think I need to get some toilet paper and some paper napkins.

哦，我還得買些衛生紙和紙餐巾。

廚房用紙

paper towel n.厚紙巾

因爲"廚房用紙"的紙張一般非常厚實，近乎不容易拉斷，就跟毛巾一樣結實，所以才叫 paper towel. 或者叫kitchen paper。

Example:

You need the, a sponge and a paper towel for the mirror.

清潔鏡子你要用清潔劑、海綿及紙巾。

溼巾wipes[waɪps] n. (溼)抹布，溼紙巾

I've only tried baby wipes myself and it’s not that bad.

我自己只用過嬰兒溼巾，也還不錯啦。
