100 years ago if I had a severe bacterial infection, I may well have died. Today, due to antibiotics, I probably won't die. In 100 years time, we may have become so anti-biotic resistant that we go back to the point we were 100 years ago. Technology can take us so far, yet it can fail and fall apart before we know it.
