【原句】It is better to forgive and forget rather than to hold a grudge.
【解說】grudge 怨恨，妒忌；hold a grudge (against...) 的意思就是（對……）耿耿於懷，懷恨在心。

2. 晚飯我請客，請隨便點你喜歡的。

【原句】Dinner is on me. Please order whatever you like.
【解說】該句用於含蓄地表達自己的請客意願，比說I'll pay for the dinner.要婉轉。當然並不固定於dinner，我們也可以說The wine is on me. 酒錢我來出。

3. 願快樂幸福永伴你左右。

【原句】May there be joy and happiness around you today and always.
【解說】today and always 從今天直到永遠

4. 請隨意四處看看，就當在自個兒家一樣。

【原句】Please feel free to look around and make yourself at home.
【解說】make oneself at home （如同在家一般）隨便些，別客氣

5. 在春節期間，窮人們受到了政府的公共救濟。

【原句】During the Spring Festival, the poor received public assistance from the government.
【解說】public assistance 公共救濟

6. 我們把行李送到賓館後就去旅遊觀光了。

【原句】We dropped our luggage off at the hotel and went sightseeing.
【解說】drop sb./sth. off 意思是take sb./sth. to a particular place as you travel to a different place，中途順便將……送交某處，而且通常是用車來交送的。

7. 擁有一顆美好的心靈是不夠的；我們必須好好運用它。

【原句】It is not enough to have a good mind; one must use it well.
【解說】have a good mind 還可以作爲一個詞組，have a good mind to do something的意思是“很想做某事”，例如：She had a good mind to tell him everything. 她很想告訴他所有事。
