託福寫作句式如何多樣化

一、架構橫向語法體系

在基礎語法的課堂上,很多老師傾向於縱向爲學員講解語法(即將句子按照簡單句、並列句、複雜句分類,再將複雜句按照名詞性從句、定語從句、狀語從句等講解),學員看似理解各種語法,但實際上在真正寫作的時候,再提到句式變換,對學生來說又是一個新的知識。其實基礎語法課的重點在於讓學生會語法,而不是讓學生會用語法。

在這種情況下,爲了提升學生寫作語言,橫向的對比和轉換應用語法更爲重要。比如,對於學生來說,定語是一個很抽象的概念。其實不妨將能做定語的內容總結起來形成一個完整的體系,讓學生有一個整體的把握和橫向的對比轉換:能做定語的有形容詞、介詞短語、非謂語動詞和定語從句,那麼也就是說,在一定的情況下,這四種定語都可以互換,從而實現整個句式的變化。同樣地,對於狀語部分,也可以幫助學生架構體系:能做狀語的有副詞、形容詞、介詞短語、非謂語動詞和狀語從句。結合具體的例子和句意,來解讀一下每種定語和狀語的應用。

定語類:

1. The problem triggeredseverepanic in the city.(形容詞做前置定語)

2. The woman present in the meeting is my mother.(形容詞做後置定語)

3. A young man in his 20s should exceed the boundaries and embrace challenges instead of remaining in familiar parameters.(介詞短語做定語)

4. Childrenkept under their parents’ wings are vulnerable to adversity.(非謂語動詞done做定語,表示被動)

5. Employees getting involved in the decision-making process are more willing to make contributions to their company.(非謂語動詞doing做定語,表示伴隨)

6. I have somethingto discuss with you.(非謂語動詞to do做定語,表示目的)

7. Children, who are in the formative years, can be easily swayed by wrong ideas.(定語從句)

狀語類:

1. In this case, love willgraduallybecome a kind of pain.(副詞作狀語)

2. Thirsty and hungry, the man walked on the road.(形容詞作狀語)

3. This is harmful in most occasions.(介詞短語作狀語)

4. Having finished his homework, the boy went out to play.(非謂語動詞doing作狀語)

5. Dressed as ghosts, the children went to the party.(非謂語動詞done作狀語)

6. He was sent there to accomplish the task.(非謂語動詞to do作狀語)

7. While this protective instinct is understandable,I do not think it is a smart move to make decision for kids.(讓步狀語從句)

主語類:

1. She finds playing computer games boring.(代詞做主語)

2. The government’s inability to control the air pollution forces many people to flee from big cities.(名詞做主語)

3. To travel means to learn and to be wiser.(不定式做主語)

4. Fitting into a new environment quickly is a requirement for young people nowadays.(動名詞做主語)

5. Why he did this is beyond me.(主語從句)

二、進行句子改寫練習

在進行橫向語法體系總結和複習之後,結合之前所學的縱向語法,句子如何進行改寫就應該明瞭了:不同的句型替換與同樣成分不同說法替換。

下面將結合具體的題目分析一下句子改寫的方法:

一個女生孤獨的時候,就想吃東西。

本能版:When a girl is lonely, she wants food.

修飾版:When a girl is lonely, she craves food.

被動版:Food is strongly desired for a lonely girl.

定從版:A girl who feels lonely has a longing for food.

主從版:It is hardly arguable that a girl desires food particularly much in lonely days.

主從版2: What a girl feels like having in lonely days is food.

賓從版:Lonely days mean a girl wants food more than ever.

表從版:Craving food is what a girl’s lonely days generate.

同位從版:In lonely days, a girl is stuck with the idea that food is needed.

強調句版:It is food that a girl so crazily desires when she is lonely.

倒裝句版:Wanted is food in a girl’s lonely days.

雙重否定:A girl cannot stop thinking of food when she is lonely.

雙重否定+倒裝:Hardly can a girl resist thinking about food in her lonely days.

現在很多學生傾向於考前臨時抱佛腳,在考試前大多會背很多詞彙詞組甚至句子,當然在平時練習的時候,學生應從最簡單基本的句子練起,對句子改寫有基本的意識。在以後的練習中,對於自己的作文進行句子改寫和文章優化。
