  英語手抄報資料:育人不是養花

I recently heard a story from Stephen Glenn about a famous research scientist who had made several very important medical breakthroughs. He was being interviewed by a newspaper reporter who asked him why he thought he was able to be so much more creative than the average person. What set him so far apart from others?

He responded that, in his opinion, it all came from an experience with his mother that occurred when he was about two years old. He had been trying to remove a bottle of milk from the refrigerator when he lost his grip on the slippery bottle and it fell, spilling its contents all over the kitchen floor - a veritable(名副其實的) sea of milk!

When his mother came into the kitchen, instead of yelling at him, giving him a lecture or punishing him, she said, "Robert, what a great and wonderful mess you have made! I have rarely seen such a huge puddle(水坑,泥潭) of milk. Well, the damage has already been done. Would you like to get down and play in the milk for a few minutes before we clean it up?"

Indeed, he did. After a few minutes, his mother said, "You know, Robert, whenever you make a mess like this, eventually you have to clean it up and restore everything to its proper order. So, how would you like to do that? We could use a sponge, a towel or a mop. Which do you prefer?" He chose the sponge and together they cleaned up the spilled milk.

His mother then said, "You know, what we have here is a failed experiment in how to effectively carry a big milk bottle with two tiny hands. Let's go out in the back yard and fill the bottle with water and see if you can discover a way to carry it without dropping it." The little boy learned that if he grasped the bottle at the top near the lip with both hands, he could carry it without dropping it. What a wonderful lesson!

This renowned scientist then remarked that it was at that moment that he knew he didn't need to be afraid to make mistakes. Instead, he learned that mistakes were just opportunities for learning something new, which is, after all, what scientific experiments are all about. Even if the experiment "doesn't work," we usually learn something valuable from it.

Wouldn't it be great if all parents would respond the way Robert's mother responded to him?

  英語預習的主要方法

首先是單詞、詞組、句型的預習。預習英語單詞時,要做到讀音準確,詞義明確,詞性明瞭,對於四會(聽、說、讀、寫)的單詞,還要求拼寫正確。預習詞組、句型和課文的重難點,可充分利用課後註釋加以明確,初步瞭解所要學習的內容。

在預習單詞、詞組、句型的時候,可充分發揮英語詞典的作用。經常在課前查詞典,將有助於豐富學生對相關單詞、詞組、句型等用法的理解和把握,站得更高,看得更遠。

其次是英語課文的預習。在預習課文時,應要求學生在預習單詞的基礎上,先仔細聽幾遍課文的錄音帶,如果一下子聽不明白也不要氣餒,可以要求學生把課文當閱讀材料來用,認真閱讀幾遍,對於剛纔沒有聽明白的地方,要特別留意,然後再聽一遍朗讀帶,看看原先沒聽清楚的地方是否已經明白,接下來再細心研究課文,找出課文中的重要知識點。可以把自己有疑惑的地方先畫上標記,然後再去查閱相關資料,看看能否自己解決。這種帶着問題聽課的過程,聽課的針對性更強,效率更高。如果還有時間聽錄音帶,模仿朗讀,跟讀課文,培養自己的英語語感,鍛鍊自己的朗讀能力。

再次是英語課後練習的預習。預習課後練習,首先要求學生在課前思考workbook中針對課文內容提出的相關問題及各種形式的針對性練習,做到心中有數。

根據以上預習要求,學生將初步瞭解所要學習的基本內容,記錄預習中的疑難問題,產生強烈的求知慾。這種強烈的求知慾將使學生在課堂上變被動爲主動,極大地提高課堂學習效率。實踐告訴我們,預習不僅可以提高學生聽課的效率,而且也是培養學生自學能力的重要途徑。
