Bummed that "Game of Thrones" is coming to an end? Don't be.

是不是在鬱悶《權力的遊戲》就要劇終了？其實不必。

Apparently, HBO is working on not one, not two, but three spinoffs of the wildly popular show.

顯然，HBO正在製作這部超級熱門劇的衍生劇，不是一部，不是兩部，而是三部。

George R.R. Martin, author of Game of Thrones and executive producer of the HBO series based on the fantasy novels, wrote in his official blog lately that three GoT “successors shows”—he dislikes the term “spinoffs”—are “moving forward nicely.”

喬治·R·R·馬丁日前在自己的官方博客中寫道，三部《權遊》衍生劇（他用的是successors shows，因爲他不喜歡spinoffs這個詞）目前“進展良好”。喬治·R·R·馬丁是《權力的遊戲》原著作者，也是這部奇幻小說改編電視劇的監製。

This is good news for fans of the decade-long television juggernaut, which after Sunday’s episode will be over halfway through its final season. In 2017, Martin said that there would be five GoT spinoff/successors developed by HBO, but we learned last month that one of these—a rumored prequel from one of the show’s main scriptwriters, Bryan Cogman—had been nixed.

對於追了這部神劇長達十年的粉絲來說，這是一個好消息。如今《權遊》最終季播出已過半。2017年，馬丁曾說過，HBO將製作五部《權遊》衍生劇/續集，但是上個月我們得知其中一部衍生劇（據傳是《權遊》主要編劇之一布萊恩·考格曼寫的前傳）已經被砍掉。

As for the three green-lighted successors, Martin writes that, “the one I am not supposed to call THE LONG NIGHT will be shooting later this year, and two other shows remain in the script stage, but are edging closer.” Indeed, the so-called Long Night, a prequel, has already been cast.

對於三部獲准拍攝的續集，馬丁寫道：“今年晚些時候會開始拍攝《長夜》（但是劇名不會叫《長夜》），另外兩部劇還在編劇階段，但很快會收尾。”馬丁所說的前傳《長夜》已經確定好演員陣容。

The Hollywood Reporter and other outlets are reporting that two-time Academy Award nominee Naomi Watts has been tapped to star in HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel series. Watts will reportedly lead an ensemble cast, playing “a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret.”

據《好萊塢記者報》和其他媒體報道稱，曾兩次獲得奧斯卡獎提名的娜奧米·沃茨將出演HBO的這部《權遊》前傳。據報道，沃茨將領銜主演這部劇，飾演一位“隱藏黑暗祕密、具有超凡魅力的社會名流。”

While little is known about the prequel series’ plot, HBO has teased that it will cause fans to rethink what they already know about the “horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history” and “the true origin of the White Walkers.”

As for the content of the other two, Martin suggested that “maybe some of you should pick up a copy of FIRE & BLOOD and come up with your own theories.” According to Deadline, Fire & Blood became a New York Times bestseller after it was published last year. It takes place 300 years before the events of the current Game of Thrones, and chronicles events around House Targaryen following the Doom of Valyria.

至於另外兩部劇的內容，馬丁暗示說“也許你們應該讀讀《火與血》，得出你自己的猜測。”據Deadline網站報道，《火與血》在去年出版後就成爲《紐約時報》暢銷書。《火與血》發生在《權遊》所處年代的三百年前，講述瓦雷利亞的末日浩劫後坦格利安家族的故事。

HBO has long been clear that it wants to maximize the mojo that is GoT.

長期以來，HBO一直明確表示會最大化地利用《權遊》影響力。

"In the press at large, everybody said, 'there are four spinoffs' and they assume that means each one is happening and we're going to have a new Game of Thrones show per quarter," HBO programming president Casey Bloys told EW two years ago.

HBO的策劃總裁凱西·布洛伊兩年前告訴《娛樂週刊》說：“媒體廣泛報道說將有四部衍生劇，並認爲如果四部都開拍的話，我們每個季度都有《權遊》新劇可以看了。”

"That's not what's going on. The idea is not to do four shows. The bar set by [Benioff and Weiss] is so high that my hope is to get one show that lives up to it."

It remains to be seen how many of GoT’s spinoffs come to fruition. But we have our fingers crossed that Martin will have time to conclude his A Song of Ice and Fire series—the inspiration for the current Game of Thrones show—which saw its last installment in 2011, and has yet to be completed.

最後能拍成幾部《權遊》衍生劇尚未可知，但是我們祈禱馬丁能有時間寫完他的《冰與火之歌》系列——《權遊》的靈感來源，上一部《冰與火之歌》出版於2011年，目前該系列還未完結。
