收據種類很多，有收條、借據、訂閱單、訂貨單等，是在跟對方發生錢和物的關係時寫給對方作爲憑據的條子，起書面證據作用。在寫借據、收條時，寫字據的日期寫於右上角，然後寫明是“借”還是“收到”，“借”、“還”錢或物的名稱和數量。立據人寫於右下角。

I. O. U.= I owe you 也可寫成IOU, 即“我欠你”的意思，譯成漢語爲“今欠”、“今借到”。

茲收到漢德爾先生下述物件： 打字機壹臺 錄音機壹臺

　　例三：訂閱單。

寫訂閱單時共分四個部分：1、訂閱刊物的名稱、起止時間;2、訂閱人的姓名;3、訂閱人的詳細地址;4、附言。
