今天就來好好盤點下常見的over短語。

1. get over

意思是從（疾病或令人不快的事）中恢復過來，搭配的賓語可以是人或物。

She was only just getting over the flu when she got a stomach bug.

她流感剛要好，又得了胃病。

It took her months to get over Michael when he ended the relationship.

邁克爾和她分手了，過了好幾個月她纔開始忘掉他。

2. look over sth

英語釋義是quickly examine something，意思是（快速）查看，檢查。

I had a few minutes before the meeting to look over what he'd written.

開會前我有幾分鐘的時間看一眼他寫的東西。

3. pull over

意思是（車輛）駛到路邊，其實這就是靠邊停車哦！

Just pull over here, and I'll get out and walk the rest of the way.

就在這兒停車吧，剩下的路我下車自己走。

4. think sth over

意思是（作決定前）認真考慮，也就是consider carefully。

I'll think it over and give you an answer next week.

我會認真考慮的，下週給你答覆。

5. take (sth) over

這個短語有兩個意思，第一是接任；接手（職位）：

He took over from the previous headmaster in February.

他2月份接手了前任校長的工作。

第二是接管，收購（公司）：

The company he works for has recently been taken over.

他就職的那家公司最近被併購了。

6. hand sth over

這是把…交給，把…送交，比如：

We were ordered to hand over our passports.

有人命令我們交出護照。

而handover是名詞，表示（控制權或責任的）移交。

The United Nations is to supervise the handover of the prisoners of war.

聯合國將監督戰俘的移交事宜。
