1. What's going to be covered on the test?
考試的範圍是什麼？

這是問考試範圍最正確的說法了! 那個 to be covered 用的真是好呀！另外，若是我們二人正討論考試，一人說"Are you ready for the biology test tomorrow?"你就可以說"Not yet, but do you know what's going to be on the test?"

2. The final will be a comprehensive test.
期末考是沒有範圍的。

有幾個關於考試範圍的英語值得學一學，像 comprehensive 就是指沒有範圍的考試，通常是考一整本書或是好幾本書。一般的博士班資格考就是一種 comprehensive test。另外 cumulative test 也常用到，它指的是上次考過的範圍這次也要考。例如明明是第二次考試，卻包括了新教的東西再加上第一次考試的範圍，這就是 cumulative test。你就可以問老師"Will you give a cumulative midterm?" midterm 就是期中考，期末考就是 final，這算是兩個最常用的講法。

3. Do you know where to get the old exam?
你知不知道去哪裏找過去的題?

過去的題叫 old exam，或者也可以說 previous exam，past exam。"考試"還有很多其它的講法，除了midterm (期中考) 和 final (期末考)，test，quiz (測驗) 還有 pop quiz ( 隨堂測驗) 都是"考試大家庭"的成員。

4. close book, open book, open note.
閉卷考還是開卷考？

有一次期中考試有一位同學問教授要怎麼考，是 close book，open book 還是 open note。結果那位教授回答的也很妙："Close book, close note, but open-minded." 另外一位教授也挺逗的，他說："Close book, close note, but you can open your eyes!" close book 毫無疑問是閉卷考了，open book就是可以帶書去翻的開卷考試，而open note則只能帶筆記了。5. Please turn in the tests. 　
請把考卷交上來。

turn in 是交的意思，或是用 hand in 也可以。一般交作業或是交考卷都可以用 turn in。老師返回考卷就叫 return the tests。 例如："The professor will return the tests today."還有值得注意的是，考試卷就叫 tests，可別畫蛇添足，說 test sheet 或 exam sheet。

6. The TA is going to explain the test today.
助教 (Teaching Assistant) 今天會來講解考題。

explain 就是講解的意思，所以 explain the test 就是講解考試題。Explain the homework 就是講解作業。另外， go over 也有講解的意思。例如："The professor will go over the test today."

7. I bombed the test.
我考砸了。

bomb 一般的意思是轟炸，在美國的口語指的是"把什麼東西給搞砸了"。所以考試考差了就可以說 "I bombed the test."或是你去約會，結果表現的很差，你就可以說"I bombed on the date."

8. I am gonna ace it next time!
我下次要把它考好.

把考試"考好"在英文裏有固定的用法，叫"ace the test"。 如果你把它說成了"I am gonna score high on the test next time."也可以，但是就不夠口語化。另外還有一個講法叫"I nailed my test."，這也是考得很好的意思喔!
