聽衆Emma來信，詢問如何表達把某事先擱在一旁，先不提某事，或討論某事，我們可以用“put…in perspective”這個表達法：

Let’s put the whole marriage thing in perspective. 我們先把結婚一事擱在一旁。（意思是放一放，先處理其它的事）
Let’s put the whole Diana thing in perspective. 我們先把戴安娜這事擱一擱。
ShAll we put the whole job thing in perspective? 我們先不要去關注工作這件事嗎？
I have to put your application in perspective for a while. 我不得不先把你的申請擱置一段時間。
I can’t put it in perspective, I need to get it done by today. 這事我不能再擱了，必須今天完成。
All right, let’s put all your troubles in perspective, right now it’s time to have fun.

接下來，我們學習一下如何用“how come”來引導疑問句，非常簡單，直接在“how come”後面加一個陳述句就可以了，請注意是“陳述句”，不用把它變成疑問句式，意思是“怎麼會…”，“爲什麼…”，“如何…”

How come you’re dumped by your boyfriend? 你怎麼就被你男朋友甩了呢？
How come you’re a photographer? 你是如何一名攝影師的？
How come we’ve never met before? 我們以前怎麼就沒見過面呢？
How come you’ve never got to talk to him? 你怎麼就一點都沒有和他談話的機會呢？
How come you’re one of the top 5 students? 你是如何躋身成爲前5名優秀的學生的？
