My brother always misplaces his schoolbag.我弟弟常常亂放他的書包。
(brother是主語，故爲主格;schoolbag是misplaces的賓語，故是賓格)
Every written sentence should begin with a capital letter.每個書寫出來的句子開頭都要用大寫字母。(sentence在句中作主語，故是主格;letter是介詞with的賓語，故是賓格)
表示有生命的東西的名詞的所有格
表示有生命的東西的名詞(人或動物)的末尾，加上's，即構成所有格，可放在另一名詞之前，作定語用。如：
John's friend約翰的朋友
Xiao Wang's notebook小王的筆記本
children's books兒童讀物
my father's room我父親的房間

名詞所有格在邏輯上可能是它所修飾的名詞的主語，也可能是它所修飾的名詞的賓語。
1)名詞所有格是它所修飾的名詞的邏輯主語。如：
the Party's concern of the younger generation黨對年青一代的關懷
the hatred of the soldiers for the enemy士兵對敵人的仇恨
2)名詞所有格是它所修飾的名詞的邏輯賓語。如：
the reactionary rule's overthrow反動統治的被推翻
the occupation of the city by the enemy敵人對該城的佔領
"of+名詞所有格"
上面講的兩種所有格的形式可以結合起來，構成"of'+所有格"形式，表示部分觀念或感情色彩。這種所有格叫做雙重所有格。如：
1)表示部分觀念：
a friend of my sister's (= one of my sister's friends)我妹妹的一個朋友;a picture of Mr. Wu's吳先生(具有的照片中)的一張照片(比較：a picture of Mr. Wu吳先生本人的照片，即照片上是吳先生的像)。
2)表示感情色彩：
this lovely child of your aunt's你嬸母的這個可愛的孩子
名詞所有格所修飾的詞的省略
名詞所有格所修飾的詞，如果前面已經提到，往往可以省略，以免重複。如：
The dictionary is not mine, but Xiao Wang's.這本詞典不是我的，是小王的。
名詞所有格後面指地點等的名詞，有的習慣上可省去不用。如：
I met him at the Johnson's (shop).我在約翰遜商店遇見了他。
I went to my uncle's (house) yesterday.我昨天到我叔叔家去
