馬哈蒂爾呼籲人民把馬來西亞總理趕下臺

Mahathir Mohamad, Malaysia's influential ex-prime minister, has called for a “people’s power” movement to intensify the efforts of a marathon 34-hour weekend protest to oust his scandal-hit successor.

馬來西亞頗具影響力的前總理馬哈蒂爾穆罕默德(Mahathir Mohamad)呼籲用“人民力量”運動強化在週末持續了34個小時的馬拉松抗議，罷黜受到醜聞打擊的現任總理。

The 90-year old former premier spoke as thousands of demonstrators returned to the streets of Kuala Lumpur to call for the resignation of Najib Razak, who denies allegations of corruption linked to a troubled state investment fund.

在這位90歲的前總理髮表言論之際，數千名示威者返回吉隆坡街道，要求納吉布拉扎克(Najib Razak)下臺，納吉布否認與一家陷入困境的政府投資基金有關的腐敗指控。

“The only way for the people to get back to the old system is for them to remove this prime minister,” said Mr Mahathir, who ruled for 22 years and has turned from Mr Najib's mentor to his sworn enemy. “And to remove him, the people must show people’s power. The people as a whole do not want this kind of corrupt leader.”

馬哈蒂爾表示：“人民恢復舊體系的唯一途徑是把現任總理趕下臺。”他曾統治馬來西亞22年，並已從納吉布的導師變成了死敵。 “而要把他趕下臺，人民必須展示人民的力量。作爲一個整體，人民不想要這種腐敗的領導人。”

Large crowds from the movement known as Bersih — meaning “clean” in Malay — began rallying on Saturday in Kuala Lumpur and elsewhere across the country, amid accusations that Mr Najib’s government is implicated in corruption and is cracking down on opponents. The premier has condemned the demonstrators as people who want to “scribble black coal on Malaysia's face to the outside world”.

上週六，來自“乾淨選舉聯盟”（淨選盟，Bersih）的大批人羣開始在吉隆坡和馬來西亞各地集會，指責納吉布政府涉嫌腐敗並鎮壓反對派。納吉布則指責示威者想要“向外部世界抹黑馬來西亞”。
