星巴克將爲員工父母提供醫療保險

Good news for parents of Starbucks employees in China: The company is now offering health insurance that will likely benefit around 10,000 elderly people.

對於中國星巴克的員工來說這是一個好消息：該公司要爲員工父母上醫療保險，大概能使1萬名老年人受益。

According to Bloomberg, the company aims to uphold the traditional filial piety values in China and give older people the "safety net" as they age.

據彭博資訊報道，星巴克計劃支持並弘揚中國傳統的孝道觀念，在老年人晚年時給予相應的安全保障。

Starbucks' plan will supplement China's current Social Medical Insurance Program and will cover 30 common critical illnesses.

這樣一來，星巴克的計劃將會一定程度上補充中國目前的社會醫療保險計劃，該保險預計將覆蓋30種常見疾病。

The strategy emerged after the company found out that 70% of their employees who applied to an internal financial assistance program were worried about their aging parents' health.

在此之前，星巴克有70%的員工申請內部財務援助計劃，他們擔心年邁父母的健康問題，隨後星巴克便產生了這一想法。

"Supporting critical illnesses for aging parents exemplifies what we believe is our responsibility as a global public company and honors the family values deeply-rooted in the Chinese culture," said Howard Schultz, Starbucks' executive chairman.

星巴克的執行總裁霍華德·舒爾茨說道：“我們一直堅信，作爲一家全球上市公司，爲老年人解決重大疾病問題是我們的職責所在，這樣做的同時也宣揚了中國文化中根深蒂固的家庭觀念。”

According to Fortune, CEO of Starbucks China Belinda Wong said that this new investment is a way to show that they are aware of their responsibilities and extends it by helping their partners take care of their parents.

據美國《財富》雜誌報道，星巴克中國區CEO王靜瑛表示，這項新投資也向外界展示了該公司意識到了作爲企業的責任感，並通過幫助自家員工照顧父母這種方式進一步延伸了這種責任。

Employees who have worked for the company for at least two years and with parents who are younger than 75 can apply for the health insurance. Starbucks plans to start their health insurance offer this June.

這項福利目前只針對已經在星巴克工作兩年以上、且父母年齡在75歲以下的員工。星巴克計劃在今年6月份開始爲這些父母上醫療保險。
