I know of no medicine fit to diminish the violent natural inclination you mention; and if I did， I think I should not communicate it to you. Marriage is the proper remedy. It is the most natural State of man， and therefore the state in which you will find solid reason against entering into it at present appears to be not well founded. The circumstantial advantages you have in view by postponing it， are not only uncertain， but they are small in comparison with the thing itself， the being married and settled. It is the man and woman united that makes the complete human Being， Separate she wants his force of body and strength of reason; he her softness， sensibility and acute discernment. Together they are most likely to succeed in the world. A single man has not nearly the value he would have in that state of union. He is an incomplete resembles the odd half of a pair of scissors.

愛情與時間
Once upon a time， there was an island where all the feelings lived： Happiness， Sadness， Knowledge， and all of the others， including Love. One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink， so all constructed boats and left. Except for Love.
在從前，有個小島上住着各種各樣的情感：有幸福，悲傷，聰慧，還有其他各種情感，還有愛情。有一天，他們被告知小島即將沉沒，大傢伙都紛紛建造小船紛紛離去。只有愛情對此不是很“感冒”。
Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment.
衆人紛紛離去，只有愛情獨自留了下來。他打算自己撐到最後可能的那一刻。
When the island had almost sunk， Love decided to ask for help.
當小島真的快沉沒的時候，愛情纔開始準備求救逃離。
Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said，
當財富駕着華麗的大船路過愛情的身旁，他準備向財富乞求幫忙。
"Richness， can you take me with you?"
“財富，能載我離開這裏麼?”
Richness answered， "No， I can't. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you."
財富回道：“不可以，我的船裏面載滿了金銀，這裏可沒空地容你。”
Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel. "Vanity， please help me!"
愛情打算向駕着漂亮的船兒同時也路過這裏的虛榮求救。“虛榮，請你幫幫我吧。”
"I can't help you， Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat，" Vanity answered.
虛榮回道：“我可幫不到你的忙，”“可你渾身溼碌碌的，說不定會弄壞我的船呢。”
Sadness was close by so Love asked， "Sadness， let me go with you."
悲傷路過愛情的身邊，於是愛情乞求道：“悲傷，帶我一起離開這裏吧。”
"Oh . . . Love， I am so sad that I need to be by myself!"
“哦...，愛情，我太傷感了，我只想自己一個人呆着。”
Happiness passed by Love， too， but she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her.
快樂也路過愛情這裏，但是她太興奮了以至於她根本沒有注意聽到愛情的哀求聲。愛情與時間
Suddenly， there was a voice， "Come， Love， I will take you." It was an elder. So blessed and overjoyed， Love even forgot to ask the elder where they were going. When they arrived at dry land， the elder went her own way. Realizing how much was owed the elder， Love asked Knowledge， another elder， "Who Helped me?"
就在這個時候，突然耳邊響起了聲音，“過來吧，愛情，我帶你來離開這裏。”這聲音是爲長者的。由於愛情終於能離開這裏而太愉快而且太欣喜過望，以至於他連問長者他們一快將駛向哪裏都沒有提及。當他們一行到了乾涸的土地上後，長者徑直離開了。愛情意識到自己虧欠了這位長者太多後，他開口向另一位被稱爲智慧的長者問道：“那爲幫我的人是誰呢?”
"It was Time，" Knowledge answered.
智慧回道：“是時間本人。”
"Time?" asked Love. "But why did Time help me?"
愛情迷惑的問到“是時間?它爲什麼要幫助我離開那裏呢?”
Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered， "Because only Time is capable of understanding how valuable Love is."
智慧微哂，禪定道來：“因爲只有時間才能夠真正懂得愛情本身有多重要。”
