Recently， every morning when I wake up， I findmy air-conditionerautomatically turned off . I didn't understand why at first ， but soon Ilearnedthat there was a great shortage of electricity supply in our city – myair-conditionerturned off because of a power failure midnight.

With the rapidly developing industry and the ever-increasing population，demand forelectricity supply is soaring. Besides， summers in recent years aremuch hotter than before ，so most working places and households areair-conditioned ， which consumes additionalelectricity.

Face with such a hard nut ， we have to find ways to crack it . Above all ，in western areasChina ， there is surplus of electricity supply. So ， cities thatare thirsty for electricity mayask for remote help. Then ，when we haveelectricity ， we should remember to save it . Although I believe that hard work isvery important and is the surest way to success for most people, I must disagreewith this statement. It cannot be denied that luck often plays an important rolein success. For example, many important discoveries have been made by e have been many cases of researchers and inventors making majorbreakthroughs while they were actually trying to solve another problem or createa different device.

Furthermore, there is something to be said for simply being in the rightplace at the right time-perhaps meeting someone by chance who can offer a goodjob or rare opportunity. And of course, there are the rare examples of gamblersand lottery winners who beat the odds and achieve sudden and unexpectedsuccess.

While the influence of luck cannot be ignored, this is not to say that oneshould depend on it and ignore the value of hard work. If one is willing to workhard, I believe that success will eventually be achieved, with or without theadded benefit of luck. Moreover, hard work is often an essential ingredient ofluck because it enables one to take advantage of a lucky encounter. If thescientist has not worked hard to develop his knowledge and skills, he may notrecognize that lucky breakthrough when it comes along. Therefore, my suggestionis not to count on luck to bring you success. Instead, work hard and keep youreyes open for that lucky opportunity.
