範例1：

Sean was going to approach the reception counter and inform the receptionist that he was waiting for a friend. Before he was to do that, the friend already appeared on the other side of the lobby. Sean did not think the friend would get there before him since he went straight to the location as soon as he received the text message. So he assumed that he would be the first of the two to arrive. Then again, he did not know the whereabouts of the friend when the text message was sent.
