Ross: We went to Western Europe last year. This year, we should go to someplace different.

羅斯：去年我們去了西歐，今年我們應該去個不同的地方。

Emma: Yes, I agree with you. How about going to Eastern Europe? It seems to be a rite for American travelers to travel to the Western Europe. I think it's time for us to travel to the Eastern Europe.

埃瑪：是的，我也這麼想。我們去東歐旅遊怎麼樣?美國旅客去西歐旅遊似乎已經成爲一種慣例了，我覺得我們該去東歐看看了。

Ross: But I am a little bit concerned about our safety there.

羅斯：可是我有點擔心我們的安全。

Emma: Don't be silly. You have been caught up in the American movies about the troubled Eastern Europe. It is not in the Second World War any more.

Ross:Yeah, you are right.

Emma:You will change your concept of Eastern Europe completely when you get there.

Ross: I couldn't understand why so many people are reluctant to travel to Eastern Europe.

羅斯：我不明白爲什麼很多人都不怎麼喜歡去東歐旅遊。

Emma: Hollywood's movies make people believe that Eastern Europe is a dangerous place.

埃瑪：好萊塢的電影讓人們相信東歐是個危險的地方。

Ross: But in all honesty, it's no more dangerous than anywhere else we'd travel.

羅斯：不過實話實說，東歐並不比我們旅遊的其他地方更危險。

Emma: Yes. I think it's a fear of the unknown that has the majority of people avoiding travel in the region.

埃瑪：是的。我想是對未知地方的恐懼使得很多人不去那裏。

Ross: But what if travelers are stilled concerned with safety? What should they do?

羅斯：可是如果遊客還是很擔心自己的安危怎麼辦?他們應該怎麼做呢?

Emma: I think we should log on the local tourist bureau to get more information on how to keep us safe there.

Ross: It says we should keep our cell phone inside our coats.

羅斯：上面說我們最好把自己的手機放在衣服裏面。

Emma: Yeah. We should also take off our backpack in crowded public transportation.

Ross: I think it is the same case when we are traveling in any country.

Ross: The local bureau website also lists several things we should be aware of when we are there.

羅斯：當地的官方網站也列出了幾件我們需要留意的事情。

Emma: We should keep these things in mind.

埃瑪：我們會謹記在心的。

Ross: It says perhaps the greatest challenge we will face is the language barrier.

羅斯：上面說或許在東歐旅遊最大的挑戰是語言不通。

Emma: Yeah. That happens if you get lost in some non-English speaking countries.

埃瑪：是呀。如果我們在一個非英語國家迷路的話，這確實是個問題。

Ross: But I do believe this will make our trip there more interesting because the language barrier will make little things like catching the bus, buying a meal, meeting locals and navigating our way back to the hotel become more of an adventure.

羅斯：不過我覺得這樣反而會讓我們的旅行更有意思。因爲語言不通會把像趕班車、買食物、與當地人見面、尋找回酒店的路這樣的小事情都變成我們的挑戰之一的。

Emma:Yeah. That will be interesting to talk with the local people in sign language.

埃瑪：對啊。跟當地人用手語交談會很有意思。
