一、中國文化的影響

例1：(請問，您需要買些什麼?)What do you want to buy?

商店售貨員，或者在服務行業工作的人，經常使用這樣的句子，但是它不符合英語習慣用法。這是典型的中國式英語。此話應改爲：

(1)What can I do for you?

(2)Can I help you?

例2：(你能告訴我什麼時候我應當寄出我的申請書?)Can you tell me in advance when I should send out my application?

這種中式英語缺乏英語中的客氣和婉轉的語氣。這句應當改寫成：

I would appreciate it very much should you let me know in advance when I should send my application.

或者

I would appreciate it very muchthe appropriate time to send my if I am notified in advance of application.

二、.過時英語

例1：(我決心在她面前絕不再談起這件事。)I’m determinednever to talk about this matter again in front of her

determined在英漢詞典中有“決心”的意思，但它並不是標準英語準確的意思。另外它也是比較陳舊的用法。這句應當改寫成：

I have resolved never to talk about this matter again in front of her.

例2：(今天下午我們班要和三班打一場籃球比賽。)This afternoon our class is going to have a basketball match with Class h儘管有“比賽”的意思，目前更流行的用法是game.所以這句

應當改寫爲：

This afternoon our class is going to play a basketball game with Class 3
