Jasper White is one of those rare people who believes in ancient myths. he has just bought a new house in the city, but ever since he moved in, he has had trouble with cars and their owners. When he returns home at night, he always finds that someone has parked a car outside his gate. Because of this, he has not been able to get his own car into his garage even once. Jasper has put up 'No Parking' signs outside his gate, but these have not had any effect. Now he has put an ugly stone head over the gate. It is one of the ugliest faces I have ever seen. I asked him what it was and he told me that it was Medusa, the Gorgon. Jasper hopes that she will turn cars and their owners to stone. But none of them has been turned to stone yet!

who believes in ancient myths:定語從句用法
believe in：相信(to have faith in sb. or sth.)
ever since he moved in, he has had trouble with cars and their owners.
ever since:adv.從那時到現在，此時間狀語常和現在完成時態連用
have trouble with sb./sth.:和某人/事有摩擦
er has put up 'No Parking' signs outside his gate, but these have not had any effect.
these：指代前面提到的'No Parking' signs
have effect:有作用，有效果
have an effect 有效果
have no effect 沒有效果
have effect on 對...有效果
is one of the ugliest faces I have ever seen. (此句爲寫作經典句，建議熟練應用)
I have ever seen:定語從句，前面省略which/that
er hopes that she will turn cars and their owners to stone.
she:指代the head of Medusa
..:把..變成...
none of them has been turned to stone yet!
none of them:not any one of them 後跟謂語動詞爲單數形式

定語從句用法
1)關係代詞在定語從句中做主語時不能省略
Jasper White is one of those rare people who believes in ancient myths.（關係代詞：who ）

2)關係代詞在定語從句中做賓語時可省略的情況
It is one of the ugliest faces（which/that） I have ever seen.
The book(which/that)I'm reading now is very interesting.

四個關係代詞 : who;whom;which;that
who 在從句當中做主語或做賓語
whom 只能在從句當中做賓語
which 指物, 即可以做主語, 又可以做賓語
that 即可以指物, 又可以指人, 即可以做主語, 又可以做賓語
現在完成時
構成：have/has+過去分詞, Ex:But ever since he moved in, he has had trouble with cars and their owners.
But none of them has been turned to stone yet!(現在完成時被動語態用法)
