一、你知道finally有幾種含義嗎？

1.最後，最終

He had finally taken the plunge and quitted the job.

最後他還是斷然決定放棄那份工作。

2.決定性地

這還沒有徹底解決。

二、詞義辨析：還有哪些詞表示相同含義呢？

at last, at length, eventually, finally, in the end, lastly

這些詞或詞組均含有“最後，終於”之意。

at last多指經主觀努力，克服各種困難後才終於達到目的。

at length強調經歷一段長時間後終於完成，側重在時間部分。

eventually側重於動作或行爲的結果。

finally常與at last換用，都可用於對往事的描述，但

finally不帶感情色彩，指一系列事情的最後結局。

in the end與at last同義，但

in the end不僅可指“過去”還可表示對“未來”的預計。
