英語表達少掉一個the意思大不同

01. in red & in the red
in red和in the red在意思上完全不同，in+顏色表示的是穿的衣服是什麼顏色，如in black就是穿黑衣，in pink就是穿粉衣，那麼in red意思就是穿紅衣。in the red的意思是陷入赤字。
The girl in red is my girlfriend.
那個身穿紅衣服的姑娘是我的女朋友。
The theatre is $500,000 in the red.
劇院負債50萬美元。
02. by hand&by the hand
hand在英語中表示手的意思，但by hand的意思是手工，by the hand的意思就是拉着手。
Rice farmers here still plant and harvest their crops by hand.
這裏的稻農仍然用手工種植和收割莊稼。
I took my sister by the hand.
我拉着姐姐的手。
03. by sea & by the sea
sea的意思是大海，by sea和by the sea的意思大不相同。by sea的意思是在海上，by the sea的意思是在海邊。
Most exports went by sea.
大部分出口貨物走海運。
The country is encircled by the sea.
這個國家四面環海。
04. in person&in the person
in person的意思是本人，in the person的意思是代表。
You can vote either in person or by proxy.
你可以親自投票或請人代理。
Help arrived in the person of his mother.
來幫忙的是他的母親。
05. in front of & in the front of
前者表示“在……外部的前面”，後者表示“在……內部的前面”。
There are many trees in front of the classroom.
教室的前面有很多棵樹。(樹在教室外)
There is a big desk in the front of the classroom.
教室的前面有一張大課桌。(桌子在室內)
06. in hospital&in the hospital
in hospital的意思是在醫院，in the hospital的意思是住院。
We are in hosptial.
我們都在醫院。
He is in the hospital.
他住院了。
