"夜店族"和"血拼族"英語怎麼說?

這個週末你打算怎麼消遣呢？泡夜店還是血拼？今天我們就講講形容這兩類人的兩個詞語——pub crawl 和 mall rat。

pub crawl

Crawl 的意思是爬，那麼爬酒吧又是什麼意思呢?

不論單身與否，泡吧是許多人最喜歡的娛樂活動。去酒吧的話，有的人prefer to stay in one place，而有些人則喜歡go to more than one pub on a night out。一晚上去好多酒吧，每個酒吧都坐上一會兒，然後再去其它酒吧，我們管這種在酒吧間串來串去的行爲就叫做pub crawl。

Pub crawl 起源於19世紀，它也可以叫做a gin crawl 或是bar-hopping. It is the social act of a group of people drinking in a number of pubs in a single night.

The tradition of pub crawl is to walk from pub to pub with designated tee shirts for the bartenders to sign to show they were there. A new trend in this social networking is where the pub crawlers have anyone they meet also sign their shirts, kind of like a myspace friends network with ink and cloth.

至於用法上，你可以說we're going on a pub crawl 或是we're doing a pub crawl。

mall rat

Mall就是購物中心，rat就是老鼠。Mall rat當然並非真的指一種老鼠，它是指年輕人像老鼠那樣在mall裏鑽來鑽去。

一到週末，許多年輕人都會去mall買東西。有的人也不見得想買什麼，他們只是願意呆在商場消磨時間。人們把經常到mall去逛的年輕人叫做：mall rat。它是一個俚語用法，指的是 a young person who loiters about shopping malls，即指那些老喜歡到購物中心去逛的年輕人。

例句：Hey, there's always something to do there for us mall rats. At least a dozen fast food places where we can buy a burger, a slice of pizza, ice cream--whatever. Ten different movie theaters. And a whole lot of people to watch, you know? I can, like, spend the whole day there, you know?
嗨，對我們愛逛購物中心的人來說，那兒總是有好玩的事的。那兒至少有十幾個快餐店，我們可以在那裏買漢堡包，意大利餅，冰淇淋等，什麼都有。那兒還有十個電影院，放映不同的電影。你還可以看到好多人，你知道嗎？我可以在那裏玩上一整天。

又如：Sure, I used to be a typical mall rat hanging around watching the crowds, especially the girls. But then I went out for basketball, made the team and I don't have time to waste anymore!
當然了，我過去是個典型的逛購物中心狂，喜歡在那裏觀看來來往往的人，特別是女孩子。可是，後來我去打籃球，而且進了球隊，這樣我就沒法再浪費時間了。
