在中國或其他國家參加雅思考試，在考試形式上沒有任何不同，但在考試費用方面稍有差別;聽力閱讀的評分標準是一樣的，不存在國家或地區的差異;雅思試卷題目在同一個考區內同一天考試是一樣的，但因爲國家和地區間會存在時差，所以全球雅思考試同一天考題是不完全一樣的。
爲了確保公平，所有考分都是基於考生在考試當日的表現，依據同樣的評分標準評定的。另外，雅思考試有系統的程序對一定比例的考卷進行二次評分。
考生的報考次數沒有限制，無論考生上一次在什麼時候、什麼地方參加過考試，均可在報名截止日期之前報名參加下一次考試。另外，報名時所有考生可同時預訂兩場雅思考試。
雅思機經是什麼
“雅思機經”這個名詞的由來和託福、GRE機經有關。機經指的是上機考試經驗，即對上機考試題目的回憶總結。雖然目前雅思考試並未採取機考方式，但是烤鴨們還是親切的稱雅思考試題目回憶記錄爲“雅思機經”。機經內容含聽力，閱讀，寫作及口語面試題目。其中寫作和口語部分對備考雅思的考生幫助很大。
口語機經使用說明口語考試也會出現較多原題，但是同學們真正複習到考試題目的可能性常小。因爲口語機經的題目非常多，我們根本不可能把每道題目都準備好，再把答案背下來。口語考試不單單是你說的內容，語音語調和單詞語法都是評分的點。所以，建議同學們整理機經的時候把題目分類，然後從中挑出典型的題目進行練習。口語練習的過程當中也要注意使用一些複雜的句式結構，把自己的回答錄下來，然後放出來自己聽聽看那些地方有缺陷。等自己覺得差不多的時候，再說給程度好的同學或者是專業的老師來進行指導。
