口語課堂第164期:大黃鴨倒下了

大家好，歡迎來到《可可口語課堂》。5月2日，一隻充氣橡皮黃鴨“遊”到了香港維多利亞港，但在5月14日深夜它被發現趴在了水上，而就在第二天(15日)，僅剩下一張黃色的“鴨皮”漂浮在海面上，網友調侃說“禽流感太強大了”。有傳言稱香港大黃鴨被瀋陽遊客扔30顆菸頭燒死。15日，香港證實大黃鴨非人爲損壞。泄氣是主辦方在對大黃鴨進行例行體檢。體檢持續時間還未確定，但大黃鴨展出時間不會延期，仍然只會展到6月9日。圍繞這個話題，我們來學一些英語表達。

橡皮鴨：rubber duck。Rubber表示“橡膠，橡皮”。
記法：把ruler 尺子 中的字母l替換爲兩個b-尺子中間有塊兒圓圓的橡皮-rubber。
inflate 充氣；膨脹；使通貨膨脹；得意
解析：in-向裏；flat-吹（來源基礎詞flatus 氣息/一陣風，flat是它的變體）。向裏面吹氣-充氣-膨脹-通貨膨脹-自滿

在剛剛提到的句子裏還有一個很好的表達：make an appearance 到場，出場，出頭露面。
appearance n. 外貌，外觀；出現，露面

Float around：基本意思是“漂浮”，引申表示“廣爲流傳”。
