喝酒海量----hold one’s liquor

滴酒不沾----teetotaller

大家好，歡迎來到小強英語。酒這個東西呢，對於有些人來講是寶貝，是上好的飲品，對於有些人則是難以推卻的應酬之物。今天，我們就來學習一下喝酒從“海量”到“不會喝”的表達。

1.形容一個人喝酒海量，千杯不醉，我們可以用hold one’s liquor。It means to be able to drink alcohol in quantity without ill effects. 比如說：He can really hold his liquor.他的酒量很好。

2.形容一個人喝酒喝得多、但是不一定喝不醉，我們可以說Sb. is a heavyweight.或者Sb. is a heavy drinker.而如果一個人酒量不好，我們則可以用Sb. is a lightweight.或者Sb. is a light drinker.

3.如果說一個人滴酒不沾，我們可以用teetotaller這個詞。A teetotaller is someone who does not drink alcohol.不喝酒的人，也有人把它翻成“禁酒主義者”。比如說：

Campbell, a teetotaller, also discloses in today's extracts that the pressure of working in Downing Street became so great that he started drinking again around the turn of the millennium.
坎貝爾，一位禁酒主義者，還在今天的摘錄中披露說，在唐寧街工作的壓力如此沉重以至於他在千禧年到來之際又開始重新飲酒。
