Todd: OK. I'm going to talk about movies. I love movies. I think many, many people around the world today love movies. I probably see one or two movies a week on DVD in my room. I watch the movies on my computer so I am a big, big fan of movies, and I watch them all the time, but I have three big complaints about movies, about Hollywood, my country, that I wish they would change. The first complaint is that movies have too many guns. This really bothers me. If you go into a video store and you look at the cover of all the movies, almost on 50% or more of the movie covers there is somebody holding a gun, and I think this is absolutely crazy. In my country, unfortunately there are many guns, but in reality, you never see guns. People have guns, but it's not common to see a person with a gun and in movies, there's always guns and shooting and killing and violence and blood and I just think it's unnecessary, so I really wish that they would not have so many guns in movies and maybe not so much violence. My second complaint is that the stories of most of the movies today from Hollywood are terrible. They're so bad that you can't even watch the movie. I guess most movies now are geared towards special effects and visual effects so the story is often really bad and I think that's just terrible.

託德：好，我要談談電影。我喜歡看電影。我想現在全世界許多許多人都喜歡看電影。我大概一週在家裏看一兩部影碟。我也在電腦上看電影，所以我是一個實足的電影迷，我會一直看電影，不過我對電影、對我的故鄉好萊塢有三大不滿的地方，我希望他們能有所改變。第一個不滿是電影裏出現了太多槍支。這真的令我很困擾。如果你走進一家音像店，你會看到所有電影的封面，幾乎50%甚至更多的電影封面上都會有拿着槍的人，我認爲這絕對是一件瘋狂的事情。很不幸，我們國家有許多槍支，但是實際上，你可能從未看過槍支。人們持有槍支，但是拿槍的人卻並不常見，可是在電影中，總是有許多槍支和射擊、殺戮、暴力血腥的場面，我認爲這沒有必要，所以我真的希望電影中不要出現這麼多槍支和這麼多的暴力場景。我的第二個不滿是現在好萊塢大部分電影的劇情都很糟糕。劇情太差了，以致於你甚至都不想看那部電影。我想現在大部分電影都會採用特效和視覺效果，所以劇情通常都很差，而我認爲那非常糟糕。

I wish Hollywood would make fewer movies, and concentrate on movies with a really good story, like my favorite movie is a movie called "Wallstreet" and it just has a fantastic story. Another movie I really liked was "The Paper" and also "Field of Dreams" and both these movies have really good stories and almost no special effects, so I think that we don't need so many special effects in movies. And my last thing, my last complaint about movies, is that, or Hollywood, that they stop only using beautiful people. Every time you see a movie, or movie stars, it's always really beautiful people, but in reality most of us, definitely myself, we're not beautiful. Most people look average so why don't they just use actors and actresses that look average. I'm sure that there are many, many really good actors and actresses that just aren't beautiful and they would do a fantastic job in a movie and it would be a really good story, compelling story, but they don't get the role because they're not beautiful and they're not young, and I just think that's kind of sad. I know that movies are the way they are because they are geared towards younger people, but I think there's a lot of older people, like myself, I'm 35, who would like to see more movies with good stories, less violence, less special effects, good writing, and people that look average like everybody else.

我希望好萊塢能少製作些電影，去關注那些有好劇情的電影，就像我最喜歡的電影《華爾街》一樣，這部電影有非常精彩的劇情。我非常喜歡的電影還有《媒體先鋒》和《夢幻之地》，這些電影的劇情都非常棒，而且幾乎沒有使用特效，所以我認爲電影中並不需要太多特效。我對於電影或是好萊塢的最後一個不滿是，我希望他們不再只啓用好看的演員。每次你看電影或是電影明星的時候，總會有漂亮的面孔，但是實際上我們大多數人，我自己就絕對不是長相漂亮的人。大多數人的長相很平凡，所以爲什麼電影不請長相平凡的男女演員來出演呢。我確定有許多非常優秀的男女演員，他們只是長得不漂亮，但是他們可以在電影中表現得非常出色，那可能是一個擁有好劇情的電影，擁有一個引人注目的故事，但是他們沒有得到電影角色僅僅是因爲他們不夠漂亮，他們不再年輕，我認爲這真令人難過。我知道電影就是這樣，因爲電影是爲年輕人準備的，不過我認爲有許多年長的人喜歡看電影，就像我自己，我今年35歲了，我們也喜歡看擁有好劇情、少暴力、少特效的優秀作品，喜歡看和其他人一樣有平凡長相的演員。
