Unit 9 What does he look like?

Section A (1a-2d)

一、教學目標:

1. 語言知識目標:

1) 能掌握以下單詞: curly, straight, tall, medium, thin, heavy, build, tonight, little, cinema, glasses, later

能掌握以下句型:

—What does he look like?

—He’s of medium/build.

—What does he look like?

—She has long straight hair.

—Is he tall or short?

2. 情感態度價值觀目標:

讓學生學會友好、客觀地描述人的形象。

二、教學重難點

1. 教學重點:

掌握單詞,熟練掌握描述人的形象的句型。

2. 教學難點:

掌握描述人的形象的句型。

三、教學過程

Ⅰ. Warming-up and revision

找出三名外貌差異較大的學生來做比較,一個胖而高大的男生(a fat and tall boy),一個瘦而較矮的男生(a thin and short boy),一箇中等身材(of medium height)。

目的:引起學生的學習興趣,瞭解人物的外貌特徵,(即不管外貌如何在不同的遊戲中都能獲勝)的對比培養學生的情感和態度:不要以貌取人(Don’t judge by appearance)。

然後用這兩名學生爲例教heavy, tall, thin, short引出句型:

1. What do you look like? He’s really tall. He has long straight hair.

2. What does she look like? She’s of medium/build.

Ⅱ. Presentation (Section A 1a)

1. Match the words with the people in the picture. (1a)

學習課本的第一部分P49,1a先看圖片,然後搭配圖片和相關的外貌特徵的詞。 Now please look at P49, Use the letters to match the people in the picture with one of the numbered words. Write each letter next to a numbered word. You can use some letters more than once. Point out the sample answer. (Keys: c, f, a, a, d, h, e, b, g, e)

留2-3分鐘讀寫1a中的單詞、短語。

2. 引導學生熟悉有關描述人的外貌特徵的詞

(1). 用漫畫畫人物教有關height,curly等單詞。然後操練“What does he look like? He is really tall.” 注意be 動詞的用法。

(2). 一個cartoon girl 教身體的各部位(ear, face, hair, eye, nose, mouth)。然後操練“What does he look like? He has long straight hair.” 注意has的用法。

(3). pictures 來教有關頭髮的詞彙, 注意has的用法。接着教a beard, a

moustache, glasses。

Ⅲ. Practice (Section A 1c)

1. Read the conversation and recite it.

2. Practice like the conversation according to some pictures.

Ⅳ. Listening (1b, 2a & 2b)

1. Look at the picture of 1a, listen and fill the blanks in the picture. (1b)

Listen carefully and fill in the blanks and find Amy’s friend? We will listen first time, just second time,listen and fill in the say the look of Amy’s friend.( He's really he has curly hair.)

2. Listen and answer the questions. (2a)

3. Listen again and fill in the chart. (2b)

4. Listen a third time to understand the key words.

Ⅴ. Practice (2c)

1. Student A looks at the chart in 2b. Student B asks Student A questions about one of the people and then draws a picture of the person quickly.

2. Act the dialogue.

Ⅵ. Role-play the conversation. (2d)

1. Read the conversation to answer the questions:

(2)Where are they meeting?

Ⅶ. Guessing game (李詠 潘長江)

全班同學分爲兩組,每組選出一名同學作爲組代表到黑板前面來,這兩位同學面向其他同學,背向黑板,不許回頭。老師將兩幅名人圖片粘到黑板上或打在屏幕上等,然後分別請這兩組同學向本組的組代表描述本組圖片上人的外貌、工作(第四單元知識點)或其他相關情況,讓本組的組代表最快猜到本組圖片上名人是誰的小組獲得勝利。在遊戲過程中注意:描述的同學每人只能描述一次,並且只能描述一句,並儘可能多的描述人物外貌,在很難猜出時,可以描述工作或其他相關情況。

代詞類

7. 這張票是她的,不是我的。

[誤] This is hers ticket. It's not my.

[正] This is her ticket. It's not mine.

[析] 物主代詞有形容詞性物主代詞和名詞性物主代詞之分。形容詞性物主代詞之後一定要接名詞,而名詞性物主代詞之後不需接任何詞。

8. 吳老師教我們英語。

[誤] Miss Wu teaches our English. [正] Miss Wu teaches us English.

[析] teach sb. sth.中的sb.作teach的賓語,因此當sb.爲人稱代詞時要用其賓格形式。

副詞類

12. 莉莉,你爲什麼不回家呢?

[誤] Lily,why don't you go to home?[正] Lily,why don't you go home?

[析] come,go 等後接here,there,home等地點副詞時,地點副詞前不加to。
