Imagine的用法

imagine vt.

①imagine (sb/sb’s)doing想象(某人)做某事

②imagine that / what clause，後接that或what引導的賓語從句。

③imagine sb. / sth. (to be) adj. / as + n. / prep. 後接複合賓語， 即賓語+賓語補足語， 賓語補足語通常是由不定式(to be)加形容詞或as加名詞構成的。

eg.

①I can't imagine what he looks like. 我想象不出他是什麼長相。

②You can imagine the situation there. 你可以想象那裏的情況。

③Don't imagine yourself to be always correct. 不要以爲自己總是對。

④ I can’t imagine walking all the way to the North Pole. 我無法想象怎樣一路走到北極去。

⑤Try to imagine living on the moon. 想象生活在月球上。

⑥I can hardly imagine Peter sailing across the Atlantic Ocean in five days.我幾乎不能想象彼得在五天內就橫渡了大西洋。

⑦---There is a story here in the paper about a 110-year-old man. ---My goodness! I can’t imagine being that old. ——這裏的報紙上有一篇關於一位110歲老人的故事。 ——天哪!我很難想象(他能)活那麼久。

⑧Nelson imagines that he will be a famous violinist， but he doesn’t practise. 納爾遜想成爲一個有名的小提琴家， 但他就是不練習。

⑨Can you imagine what he is doing now? 你想他現在正在幹什麼?

⑩I can just imagine what the place is going to look like in a few years.我能想象出這個地方几年後會變成什麼樣子。

④Please imagine yourself (to be)in his place. 請設想你自己處於他的位置。 ⑤The boy imagines himself becoming a scientist.這孩子想象自己成了科學家。 ⑥He imagined her to be a good physician. 他猜想她是一位好醫生。
