A huge super volcano named Campi Flegrei is located just west of Naples. Although its last eruption was in 1538 AD many scientists warn that this area is becoming extremely dangerous and a massive eruption is imminent. This could be a devastating event considering the dense population of the area.

The Sardinian islands are famous for their "witches" who make health potions for local people. The "witches" are usually women and they use a secret language that they pass on to their daughters.

Gelato is the Italian word for ice cream. It starts out with a similar custard base as ice cream, but has a higher proportion of milk and a lower proportion of cream and eggs (or no eggs at all). It is churned at a much slower rate, incorporating less air and leaving the gelato denser than ice cream.
