澳大利亞議會通過同性婚姻法案 將寫入該國法律

Same-sex marriage has been officially signed into law in Australia.

同性婚姻現在已經被正式寫入澳大利亞的法律當中。

Australia's Governor-General Peter Cosgrove signed off on the law on Friday - a formality required to enact the legislation.

澳大利亞總督彼得·科斯格羅夫於日前正式批准了該法案，這是法律正式生效必備程序。

"So it is all done. It is part of the law of the land," Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said after a brief ceremony.

在一個簡短的儀式過後，澳大利亞總理馬爾科姆·特恩布爾稱：“這件事終於塵埃落定，它已經成爲了這片土地上的一項法律。”

The first marriage ceremonies will happen from 9 January, given couples must give a month's notice of their intention to wed.

第一個同性婚禮將於明年1月9號舉行，因爲新人必須提前一個月告知其結婚的意願。

Same-sex weddings conducted overseas will be immediately recognised in Australia.

而在海外舉行的同性婚禮將會立即在澳大利亞得到認可。

The legislation sailed through parliament without amendments after Australians overwhelmingly supported the reform in a voluntary national poll.

這項立法未經修改就順利通過了議會，此前澳大利亞人以壓倒性的優勢，在一項全國範圍內的投票中支持了該改革。

"Australians had their say and overwhelmingly voted yes to marriage equality, to love, respect and commitment," Mr Turnbull said." They told us politicians to get on with it and we did."

特恩布爾稱：“澳大利亞人民表了態，並以壓倒性的投票通過了婚姻平等、愛、尊敬和承諾。他們告訴我們這些政客要採取行動，我們照做了。”
