印度遭罕見熱浪侵襲 51度高溫破歷史記錄

A city in India's Rajasthan state has broken the country's temperature records after registering 51C, the highest since records began, the weather office says.

據印度氣象局報道，拉賈斯坦邦某市的氣溫高達51攝氏度，創下了印度有史以來的最高氣溫紀錄。

The previous record for the hottest temperature stood at 50.6C in 1956.

據悉，此前最高氣溫的記錄是1956年的50.6攝氏度。

The heatwave has hit much of northern India, where temperatures have exceeded 40C for weeks.

這股熱流席捲了印度北部大部分地區，在這些地區，氣溫已經連續幾周都在40度以上了。

The run-up to the Indian monsoon season is always characterised by weeks of strong sunshine and increasing heat but life-threatening temperature levels topping 50C are unusual.

印度季風季來臨前，往往是連續多周的強烈光照和氣溫上升，但像這樣危及生命的、高達50度的氣溫卻很不正常。

"Yesterday was the hottest temperature ever recorded in the country... 51C in Phalodi," India's weather office BP Yadav told AFP news agency.

印度國家氣象預報中心主任雅達夫接受美聯社採訪時表示：“昨天是這個國家有記錄以來的溫度最高的一天，帕洛迪的氣溫了達51度。”

The weather office has issued warnings of "severe heat wave" conditions across large parts of India's northern and western states through the weekend. India declares a heatwave when the maximum temperature hits 45C, or five degrees higher than the average for the area in previous years.

印度氣象局已經發出“高溫預警”，本週末嚴重的熱浪將席捲印度北部和西部的大部分地區。當高溫達到45度時，或比該區域往年的平均氣溫高出5度時，就被稱爲熱浪。

This summer, the heatwave has claimed dozens of lives in the south Indian states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

今年夏天，印度南部的泰倫加納邦和安得拉邦已經有數十人被熱死。

Permanent relief from the heat is only expected with the arrival of the monsoon, which normally comes in mid-June.

而緩解熱浪的長久之計只能是通常於七月中旬左右到來的季風。
