維多多贏得印度尼西亞總統大選

Joko Widodo, the reformist governor of Jakarta, has been elected as the next president of Indonesia, capping a meteoric rise for the 53-year-old furniture salesman turned mayor.

雅加達首都特區行政長官、改革派佐科•維多多(Joko Widodo)被選爲印尼下任總統，從而令這位曾經的傢俱推銷員火箭般的升遷歷程達到頂峯，他今年53歲，是雅加達的市長。

The election commission in the world’s third-largest democracy announced on Tuesday that Mr Widodo had beaten his only challenger, former general Prabowo Subianto, by 53 per cent to 47 per cent, with more than 130m votes.

印尼選舉委員會週二宣佈，維多多以53%的得票率、總計逾1.3億的選票擊敗了唯一對手、曾任將軍的普拉博沃•蘇比安託(Prabowo Subianto)，後者獲得了47%的選票。

“This is a victory for all the Indonesian people,” Mr Widodo said after the results were announced. “I hope this people’s victory will pave the way to an Indonesia that is politically independent, stands on its own feet economically and preserves its culture.”

選舉結果公佈之後，維多多表示：“這是印尼全體人民的勝利。我希望這次人民的勝利能夠爲政治上獨立、經濟上自主並保留原有文化的印尼鋪平道路。”

The news came after an emotional Mr Subianto said he would reject the results on the grounds that the election was “not fair, not just, not clean”.

就在這一消息傳出之前，十分情緒化的蘇比安託曾表示會拒絕接受選舉結果，因爲選舉“不公平、不公正、不乾淨”。

The self-styled strongman has three days in which to lodge a formal protest with the Constitutional Court but analysts dismissed his attack on the electoral process as unfounded.

這位自稱強硬的人還有三天時間可以向憲法法庭(Constitutional Court)提出正式抗議，不過分析人士認爲他對選舉過程的攻擊是毫無根據的。

“Mr Subianto is clearly struggling to accept defeat after a decade-long struggle to win the presidency,” said Paul Rowland, an election expert in Jakarta. “This is the best-run presidential election that Indonesia has ever seen.”

維多多是首位來自印尼嚴密的上流社會圈子之外的總統，他此次勝選點燃了人們心中的希望，希望他能爲這個東南亞最大經濟體引入急需的改革。

The first president to come from outside Indonesia’s tightly knit elite, Mr Widodo’s election victory has sparked hopes that he will be able to introduce much-needed reform of southeast Asia’s biggest economy.

儘管蘇比安託團隊對維多多的抹黑令他經歷了一場艱難的選戰，但他謙卑的形象、在地方政府改革的成績以及毫不貪腐的名聲都令他成爲印尼最受歡迎的政治家。

Wijayanto Samirin, an economic adviser to Mr Widodo, said: “Mr Widodo will have the guts to make dramatic changes in policy because he is not weighed down by vested interests.

對蘇比安託強硬外交措辭頗爲擔憂的外國投資者表示，維多多行勝於言的風格有助於印尼政府應對十分棘手的結構性問題，比如地域性貪腐、糟糕的基礎設施、以及今年規模估計達210億美元的燃料補貼法案——該法案是印尼財政赤字預計會達到2.4%的關鍵原因。

“But he must move quickly to announce and implement reforms in his first year, while he still has momentum.”

由於期待維多多會改變印尼前景，今年印尼金融市場已經回暖，雅加達證券交易所指數上漲了20%，盧比兌美元匯率上漲了5%。

Mr Widodo’s humble image, record of local government reform and corruption-free reputation has made him Indonesia’s most popular politician, despite a bitter campaign by Mr Subianto’s team to discredit him.

不過，分析人士警告說，由於在高層的政治經驗太少，今年10月份維多多上任後將很難滿足人們的過高期望。
