一說到天氣預報,常常會使用'The weatherman said...'said'也可以換成'says',但要注意'would'也要相應地變成'will'.

談話裏可以使用一些誇張的說法. 'I can't believe'就是其中一種表達方式.這是爲了表達自己強烈的感情.

聽說昨天是今年以來最熱的一天.

They said yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far.

'They say...'與'The weatherman says...'意義完全相同.

這鬼天氣真讓人捉摸不透.

The weather can't make up its mind what to do.

'can't make up its mind;由'自己無法決定'轉義爲'捉摸不透'.也可以使用'unpredictable'或'changeable',如'The weather　is unpredicatable/changeable.'
