今天要講的第三個習慣用語是to raise the roof。Raise是一個動詞，意思是把什麼東西擡高;roof就是房子的屋頂。To raise the roof它的意思是：一個人很生氣地大聲抱怨;他的聲音之大簡直可以把房子的屋頂都擡了起來。這當然是誇大的說法。但是to raise the roof這個習慣用語可以說明一個人有多麼的生氣。
