While the 'Meghan effect' is a well-documented phenomenon, it's not just the fashion industry receiving a boost from the duchess' influence.

Increasing numbers of Brits are now turning to calligraphy inspired by Meghan's former job, industry insiders have said.   

書法圈內人說，梅根之前的教書法的工作帶動了不少英國人開始學習書法。

The royal bride taught calligraphy, gift-wrapping and book-binding at the Paper Source store in Beverly Hills from 2004 to 2005 when she was a jobbing actress trying to make ends meet.

2004年到2005年，梅根在紙源書行教授書法、禮品包裝和書籍裝訂，當時演員對她來說只是一份兼職。

And she appears to have prompted a surge in sales of calligraphy craft kits with a 2018 trends report from Hobbycraft detailing an increase in interest in calligraphy kits, up 40 per cent from 2017.

到了2018年，梅根開始帶動書法裝備的銷量，據《愛好書法》報道，相比2017年，大家對書法裝備的興致增加了40%。

Hobbycraft noted that sales peaked over the summer period, in line with the Royal Wedding in May. 

《愛好書法》還說書法裝備的銷量隨着五月的王室婚禮達到頂峯。

Customer director Katherine Paterson said: 'Putting pen to paper is becoming more popular and there's no doubt that the Duchess of Sussex has helped to raise the profile of calligraphy writing. Our calligraphy range continues to sell well and we only expect this to continue.'

Winnie Park, CEO of Paper Source in the US has previously spoken about Meghan's calligraphy sessions.

She told PEOPLE: 'She taught calligraphy and hosted a group of customers and instructed them during a two-hour class on how to do calligraphy.

'She would have advised customers on projects — from wedding invitations to creating personalised stationary to gift-wrapping,' she adds. 'She has talked about being a big fan of custom stationary and thinks it's the best gift to give a friend.'
